What is the Mil Spec+ finish?

At Daniel Defense, Mil Spec+ designates a range of Cerakote finishes applied to the standard MK18 SBR. The name reinforces the mil-spec heritage of the internal components — upper, lower, receiver extension, barrel — with a premium Cerakote layer offering enhanced resistance to wear, solvents and corrosion, while providing a distinctive visual identity. Mechanical characteristics remain strictly identical to the standard MK18 SBR : this is an aesthetic and protective choice, not a functional modification.
