The DD5 platform: rethinking the AR-10

Unlike traditional AR-10s that adapt an AR-15 architecture to .308 caliber (with inherent compromises), the DD5 is a platform completely redesigned by Daniel Defense around 7.62 NATO. Result: more reliable, more rigid, more precise, and lighter than classic AR-10s. Key innovation: 4-Bolt Connection System — the barrel is attached to the upper receiver by 4 dedicated bolts, without a barrel nut. Perfect alignment, extreme rigidity, maximum precision. The 7.62 x 51 NATO (military) and .308 Winchester (civilian) are quasi-identical and totally interchangeable in the DD5 V3. The Daniel Defense Superior Suppression Device is a proprietary DD muzzle device, 17-4 PH stainless steel, salt bath nitride. Functions: significant muzzle flash signature reduction, reduced muzzle rise for faster target reacquisition. 5/8 x 24 TPI thread (standard .30 cal suppressor thread) — removable for suppressor installation.

The DD5 Rail 15.0 M-LOK handguard

15.0" length covering the barrel almost entirely to the gas block. M-LOK on 3 sides, continuous 1913 Picatinny rail on top, free-float design, proprietary Daniel Defense 4- or 6-bolt attachment, CNC 6061-T6 aluminum, Type III anodized.
